Developing new active-learning strategies is always an exciting opportunity for nurse educators. The literature has long demonstrated that story-telling is an effective way for faculty to share their experiences to bring theory to life in the classroom. With Create a Kid, Lesley Ann Ellison has developed an active-learning strategy that allows students to build their own stories to make content real. Lesley shares the evidence she has collected that reinforces the value of using P.A.C.E.S as a framework for organizing learning experiences to facilitate learning.
Professor Ellison earned her ADN from Fayetteville Technical Community College and her BSN and MSN from Chamberlain University. Lesley is currently working on her doctorate in organizational leadership at Grand Canyon University.
