Curriculum design and development is a daunting task for any nursing faculty member. Drs. Sally Cantwell and Mellisa Neville have developed a logical, linear model that facilitates the development of a consistent, transparent curriculum design with quality outcomes. As Steven Covey suggested "Begin with the end in mind." Their model is a backwards course design process that starts with expected outcomes and develops a pathway to make that happen in the curriculum.
Drs. Neville and Cantwell teach at Weber State University’s school of nursing in Ogden, UT. They were instrumental in the recent curriculum redesign to a model. Sally received her master's degree in nursing from University of Utah and her PhD In higher education leadership from Northcentral University. Melissa earned her bachelor of science in nursing, master of science in nursing and doctor of science in nursing from the University of Utah. Their passion for quality curriculum development as a dynamic process is evident in this presentation.
