It is an understatement to say that teaching in nursing education can be difficult. We as faculty need to find ways to help each other and support one another. Too often, we are so focused on our students that we neglect ourselves, not only as individuals, but also as teams.
Consider coming together as a team periodically through out the semester and having a little bit of fun. It does not need to be a high-budget expense or adventure. However, the sole purpose is to connect and collaborate on something that has nothing to do with teaching. When we allow ourselves to laugh together, smile, and have a little fun, it will improve our practice as nurse educators. Look at this video as one example of a strategy you can implement with your team. The investment you make in each other will have a direct impact on the quality of your curriculum and the success of your students.
