NurseTim presents...

From Critical Thinking to NCLEX® and Beyond!

Kimberly Silver DNP, RN
UMass Graduate School of Nursing

Dr. Kimberly Silver is an assistant professor in the nursing graduate program at the University of Massachusetts. The QSEN strategy that she developed was created based on the reality that many adjunct faculty are hired at the last minute to teach clinical courses with little or no orientation. Therefore, the challenge is how to ensure safe practice for students. Dr. Silver's model incorporates a triad of competencies: QSEN, the Nurse of the Future and the NLN Educator Competencies. The teaching strategy Dr. Silver shares can be used in academic as well as in staff development programs.
